Zoom Player provides special zooming functions to improve TV-Output quality by eliminating overscan. Zoom Player's scaling system allows you to exactly match the video area to your screen's dimensions in real-time with adjustable background color in order to test for brightness bleeds. Changes and Updates:
* Support for VMR9 ProcAmp (Color Controls). These integrate into the same control as the overlay color controls. Unlike the overlay color controls, the ranges are different and reported by the card itself, so it's more accurate. Also, the card reports which color controls it supports and only these will be active. There is no gamma support (don't know why, ask Microsoft).
Due to the different ranges, you should reset the default values for the color control. There is also a new button on the color control options dialog allowing you to fetch the default values for the VMR9 color controls if a video is currently playing.
* Customized DVD Playback now supports inserting Audio and Video DMO Effect Components. I've created presets for all the effects I had installed on my system, including all the ones from Intervideo (such as TimeStretch and Downmixing).
I've noticed that not all decoders can support DMOs properly, for example, CyberLinks' decoder doesn't support the intervideo Video DMOs, but its audio decoder seems ok with the Audio DMOs. * You can now adjust the merit on your audio devices using the new Audio Manager (Options / Manual Filter). Works the same as the Registered Filter Manager, just for audio devices.
* New DVD Setting (Options / DVD / DVD Settings). "Adjust DVD Aspect Ratio for 4:3 display" used to be always on, now you can turn it off if need be. When disabled, Zoom Player will no longer compensate for the DVD Aspect Ratio to match it to 4:3 displays.
* The Skin Gradient functions can now be applied to the Play List, Control Bar and OSD Pop-up.
* The Tray Icon now supports unicode hints.
* New "fnPLMax" function allowing you to maximize the Play List window (as long as it's not docked to the main window).
* New "fnLoadDF" function allowing you to manually load a definition file for the currently playing Media or DVD. If the Media or DVD does not have a definition file, but a default file is specified in the options dialog, it will be loaded instead.
* New "/MAX" command line parameter to start Zoom Player Maximized. I've also updated the "Start Player In" toggle to allow for this.
+ When associating a new icon, you can now pick EXE/DLL/ICO/ICL nested icons.
+ Play List clicks react the same as toggles set to the main window.
+ The Media Library Editor now supports unicode directories and category names. The Library file has been renamed from "zplayer.lib" to "zplayer.library" to prevent crashes as the new library format is in unicode. If you would like to convert the files, use a unicode capable editor (such as UltraEdit) to cut & paste from the old file (make sure the new file is unicode).
+ All the Control Bar settings are now duplicated on the control bar context menu and the control bar section within the options dialog.
- External Audio Track support got all freaky.
- DVD Discs should now be able to load the Default Definition File if one was specified in the options dialog (and the disc didn't have a previously generated definition file).
- Mouse Cursor no longer hides if the options dialog is opened.
- Fixed a unicode issue that didn't allow you to open files under a unicode directory name.
- Fixed a couple of unicode glitches in the filter properties list.
- Fixed possible conflicts between definition files and non-english versions of windows.
- You can now disable the "Bold" setting on the OSD fonts.
- Hiding the file extension in the play list editor would cut the play list item names improperly.
- The Fullscreen to Zoom and Fullscreen to Max had their bitmap switched on the default skin (oops!).
- The Associated icon display now properly shows icons associated to ".ico" files. The reason this doesn't work is due to misleading text in the Windows SDK (yay!).
