Xmas 1940 is yet another game developed in limited time for a contest, yet easily stands out. The graphics are pretty decent, and the gameplay is easy to get the hang of immediately. Use your mouse to steer, your spacebar to deliver presents and keyboard to speed up or down. Flight physics are a bit better than the average arcade shooter.

Home targets will appear on the board, and when you get close, your cursor changes colors so you can deliver your presents with your present canon. Naturally, because this is 1940, Santa also has a gun so that he can shoot at any foes that appear.

You can even upgrade your plane with the cash you earn from running missions. There's no end game here. All you can do is beat your score and have fun.

The author says that this is "just a little silly game," but we disagree. Flappy Bird is a silly little game. Xmas 1940 has the beginnings of what could be a fun holiday-themed shooter for all ages.
