X-Setup Pro 7.0 - Sneak Preview

X-Setup Pro 7 now uses XML (eXtensible Markup Language) for all main files it supports: plugins, wizards and translations. Not only is this a logical step, since every application will use XML in the near future, it also improves X-Setup Pro in several ways. First, everybody than has some understanding about XML files, is now able to understand X-Setup Pro files as well. Also, it is much easier to add to add new elements to X-Setup Pro files, without fearing that that this will break compatibility. Secondly, we redesigned the tags a lot, so it?s now intuitive to understand what the file is all about. For example, the old format required you to write something like OSVERSION=0010001 to describe on which version of Windows the plugin is able to execute. With the new format, you simply write win2003=1, winXP=1 etc. to tell X-Setup Pro on which version of Windows the plugin is able to execute.
