WX Disk Clear 2.0

WX Disk Clear can simply scan and remove junk files from your system.
MajorGeek says: Another entry in the disk cleaning category is WX Disk Clear. It's pretty lightweight but does have a few potential negatives. WX Disk Clear will scan and remove junk files but it won't tell you what it's removing. There are currently no options to do anything actually. Simple click scan and ?clear now?. We have used it on a couple systems with no issues. The company uses the bottom of the screen to advertise their other products and to share the program with your friends. The update feature is a tad odd because it shows you when it was last updated but you had better remember when you last updated it because it simply directly downloads the file again. In a portable app, this isn't a good idea. I actually don't like the name either. ?Clear? sounds like it would wipe the disk but since the authors first language isn't English, I understand it. It's not for everyone but if you want to simply clean junk files more efficiently without getting too involved this might be worth a shot. Now, the Major would never put this out here without making sure it was tested first. Since my work machine had a ton of recycle bin files and has not been cleaned in a week I decided to test it there as well as in VMWare. In VMWare it found about 632 files which feels a little aggressive to me as that is typically a few days into a clean install. In Windows (see screenshots) it found approximately 1.6 GB to clear where CCLeaner, a typically conservative program, found 1.5 GB. I rebooted and everything was fine. Much like the aforementioned bad way of checking for new versions, the files it deletes does not update or refresh either. In other words, if it removes 549 files, it leaves 549 files as removed up there. Now, that might be alright in most cases but when you see it you?re first thought is that you need to remove files again. It should have a 'last scan? and ?files removed? note attached which would also be nice to remind you when you last updated.I think this one has future potential so we'll keep an eye on this one.
