Windows File Manager (WinFile) is a throwback to the original XP-style Windows File Manager, including augmentations that allow it to accommodate all OS.
This little file manager is familiar with those early Windows versions, but the similarity ends there. This manager is a more functional manager crafted by a few Microsoft coders to bring back a bit of history and some modern conveniences allowing it to be used with the current OS (including Windows 10). This iteration includes many XP-era goodies to please the eyes. Like XP bars for the smaller windows, MDI (Multiple Document Interface) adds in keyboard shortcuts, a context menu, drive connection, criteria-based file sorting/searching, font/toolbar customization, and disabling of confirmation messages when deleting or replacing files.
Windows File Manager (WinFile) also permits you to copy/move/rename items, start Command Prompt and run as Admin, file compression, file association, and jump to directories. It is still a limited file manager compared to modern ones, but it is a nostalgic labor of love - totally usable and fun.
