Netmarketshare has a new Desktop Operating System Trend report out showing that Windows 7 is actually catching up to Windows XP.
This gives us hope as it also shows that the masses are getting the message that we have been spreading for years; Windows XP (46.52%) was an excellent operating system and Windows 7 (36.99%) is finally the time to upgrade. More importantly, Windows Vista is holding on at only 8.44%, about where it belongs.
MacOS total share remains in the 5% range as it has been for as long as I can remember while “other” hangs in there at just under 3%. One can assume that is Linux and its few diehards hanging in there.
