Microsoft announced the public release of a 'release candidate' version of the Windows 7 Service Pack 1. The so-called RC version is the last public beta build to be released prior to the release to manufacturing (RTM) final release. The service pack also targets Windows Server 2008 and the only new features included in the service back are features related to the server version of the OS.
There aren't any new features specific to Windows 7 in the service pack, Microsoft said on the Windows Team Blog, but the service pack would enable Windows 7 users to "take advantage of these server-based features to provide a more scalable and richer VDI experience for end users."
