What's My Computer Doing is meant as a security application to research if all running processes and services are safe.Once started you are shown all running programs. You can optionally show system processes as well, but that tends to clutter the screen a bit. You also can't remove the viewing of system processes so to return; you will need to close and restart the program. By clicking on any running program or service, you are given all the file details including the name, installed path, timestamps, security, known problems, and version number. It also includes the known file details from the publisher. External links to search for the selected file making it quick to see if it's a safe or needed file.There is a box to "freeze" where you are because What's My Computer Doing is showing you everything live. If the file you're researching stops, it can disappear before you have all the information.To the far right, you have options to manage the file even further. This includes properties, open folder, close program, terminate a process, uninstall program and links to Kaspersky and Virustotal to check them. Those links will copy the name to the clipboard requiring you to paste the filename into Kaspersky or VirusTotal. At the time this was reviewed, the Kaspersky link was not working, most likely due to a changed link at Kaspersky.What's My Computer Doing offers a wealth of information on all running program but it isn't without a few glitches. A portable app would be nice as well.Download
