WavPack is a completely open audio compression format providing lossless, high-quality lossy, and a unique hybrid compression mode. Although the technology is loosely based on previous versions of WavPack, the new version 4 format has been designed from the ground up to offer unparalleled performance and functionality.
What's new:
- new option (-i) added to ignore length in header of wav files (for foo_clienc and CDex)
- new option (-w) added to write APEv2 tags from command-line (including cuesheets)
- bug fixed that caused problems with wav files over 2 gigabytes (new limit: 4 gig)
- improved encoding and decoding speeds in common modes (16-bit, stereo)
- added winamp media library support to winamp plugin
- added mode to decoding library for streaming support
- updated source code to compile on 64-bit machines
