VHD Attach adds an attach and detach option to the right-click context menu of Virtual disk (VHD) files.

Haing VHD Attach on your machine enables you to perform those operations is a more strightforward way with the need to bring up the Disk Management console. The detach option is also available on hard drive contextual menu (if selected in options). You will be able to also attach various virtual disks upon system start-up and you can choose whether it's done in full-access or read-only mode. Additionally, VHD Attach can be utilized as an informational utility as it allows you to view various details about the virtual disk, even without attaching it.

For those users still on Windows 8 or Windows Server 8, VHD Attach can also mount ISO images and new VHDX virtual disks.
