Today up for review we have a VGA cooler that isn?t like the average coolers. Most aftermarket VGA coolers that you?ll find in various modding or computer sites/stores are of the small round chipset cooler type units resembling a mini HSF. Now we?ve seen many manufacturers start using bigger cooling solutions for their video cards (Abit OTES, nVidia?s stock cooling on the FX5800 and FX5950, etc) but none of these bigger type coolers were produced by the smaller after market modding community except for the Zelman Heatpipe?s, which weren?t meant for performance, but silent cooling.
However, a new company, one that?s been offering silent CPU coolers for a few years now has released a VGA cooling device that promises some nice things, such as low noise and lower temps compared to the stock 9800 pro cooler. Already in use by the HIS Excalibur 9800pro line, Artic Cooling?s VGA Silencer promises less noise while providing more cooling, so let?s see how this fares.
