VeraCrypt Portable, released via PortableApps, is a free disk encryption app based on TrueCrypt. Installer version is also available.

It is designed to add enhanced security, making it immune to new developments in brute-force attacks. VeraCrypt Portable also solves most vulnerabilities and security issues found in TrueCrypt. It is capable of loading TrueCrypt volume and offers the possibility to convert TrueCrypt containers and non-system partitions to VeraCrypt format.

This enhanced security only adds delay to the opening of encrypted partitions without any performance impact to the use application phase. This way, VeraCrypt Portable is acceptable to the legitimate owner, but it makes it much harder for an attacker to access the encrypted data.
