Use USB Secure Erase to help ready sensitive data for permanent deletion.
USB Secure Erase writes different patterns of junk data to your USB drive multiple times, making data recovery impossible. MBR (Master Boot Record), boot records, OS boot loaders, partition tables, active partition flags, and all partitions, as well as space in between, are overwritten by irregular patterns of junk data generated.
USB Secure Erase will help rid your USB device of known or unknown computer viruses during the process of data erasure. USB Secure Erase does not analyze the file system or operating system on the USB drive, allowing it to be used with Windows, Linux, Unix, macOS, or any other OS containing one or more partitions.
Keep in mind that Bootable USB drives lose the capabilities of booting to OS after the erase.
Use USB Secure Erase utilizes algorithms like US DoD 5220.22-M, US DoD 5200.28-STD, US DoE, Bruce Schneier, German BCI/VSITR, Peter Gutmann, Pseudo RNG, Windows RNG, and Quick 3-Pass Wipe for the wipe process. USB Secure Erase also includes an advanced Format feature that allows you to format your USB drive to FAT32, FAT, ExFAT, and NTFS.
