Today the U.S. Army unveiled a new Weblog feature on its www.americasarmy.com Website devoted to information about the highly successful America?s Army game. Written by a real Soldier and member of the America?s Army game team, the "Stories of Afghanistan" Weblog chronicles this Soldier?s deployment to Afghanistan in early August 2002 to assist in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). With a mission in Afghanistan of analyzing some of the unique issues in this war on terrorism and the rebuilding of the new Afghan Army, this Soldier is also capturing ideas, facts, and footage that may be used in future iterations of the America?s Army game.
Entries thus far document arriving at Bagram, life on the military base, and interaction with the ground forces and Afghans. This inside look at the Soldiers who are fighting for freedom can be viewed at www.americasarmy.com under the News section.
Along with the Weblogs, the Army has updated the americasarmy.com Website to feature easy access to game information, downloads, news, updates, and the America?s Army fan community. In addition the site contains basic information about the Army?s Rules Of Engagement and Code of Conduct for ?virtual soldiers? to use in their online game missions.
