In the past few months we have seen several memory modules with chips that have "BH-5" printed on them, so what's going on? Has Winbond resumed production of the legendary BH-5 chips? Well, not exactly.
In fact, the new chips are called BH-5 UTT, which stands for UnTesTed, because they do not pass the strict quality assurance tests before they leave the factory. We have decided to look closely at the whole fuss about the UTT chips, and for that we chose a pair of TwinMOS Speed Premium PC3500 512MB modules.
