Hilary Rosen, of the Recording Industry Association of America, countered that college students she speaks to admit that the free trade of MP3s makes them less inclined to drop money on a legitimate CD. What matters now is that the judges have sided with Rosen and the majors, which is why the industry has had a more decisive hand in shaping the online music sphere than anyone would have guessed back when Napster was in its rogue phase.
