Stop Chrome is a free, open-source, portable app that resides in the system tray to notify you if Google Chrome is running.

Stop Chrome is a large download for what it does; however, it uses no resources when Chrome isn't running and very little when it is.

Stop Chrome is available as a portable app or installer. We recommend the portable version, as always, but mostly because the installer might get flagged by your antivirus.

Once installed, you can watch the red or green icon in your system tray to ensure Chrome has closed entirely.

Of course, you can always use another web browser, but some people have or want to use Google Chrome. If you use Google Chrome but have limited resources, Stop Chrome can solve the problem.
