FunkyKit posted a review on the SteelSeries Apex M800 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
A quote from the article:
Toady I will be reviewing the SteelSeries Apex M800 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. This will my first review of a mechanical keyboard. In my opinion the worst thing about mechanical keyboards are the price. Most mechanical keyboards carry a higher price tag than your typical membrane keyboards. I always asked my self, how is that high of a price justified? Later in this review I will explain the features of a mechanical and from that you may see why a mechanical keyboard does hold some weight in having a higher price tag. I have never claimed to be fast at typing, as most of my typing is done with one hand while the other is planted on my mouse. With that being said I greatly noticed an increase in my typing speed, Now whether that is from the mechanical keys, the spacing of the keys, or the keyboard just fits my hands well, either way the keyboard is quite a pleasure to use and I believe my typing performance increased!SteelSeries Apex M800 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review @ FunkyKit
The other major trend in the newly released mechanical keyboards is the lighting. I can recall a few off the top of my head that seem very similar and claim to have all the same features and effects. The one thing that stands out about SteelSeries is the unlimited customizable abilities. Really your biggest limitation is your imagination and being able to transfer your ideas to the software. A few of the pre-made lighting effects are nice and I hope SteelSeries keeps on developing more for us to choose from. Now let us begin to examine this keyboard in greater detail and see what SteelSeries was able to do with the Apex M800.
