Start Menu Tool allows you to backup/restore/lock your start menu layout.

Start Menu Tool is designed to be extremely simple to use. The UI is utilitarian, providing three large buttons; Backup Current Layout, Restore Backup Layout and Lock Current Layout. One-click and Start Menu Tool begins the backup process notifying you upon completion. The same goes for restoring and locking the layout. If you have a shared machine at home or work, then being able to lock the start menu will useful in preserving your setup, for instance, (note you will not be able to add/remove/rearrange start menu items when it is locked).

Start Menu Tool is the perfect little tool for those that have experienced their Start Menu layout changing without consent for one reason or another.
