Spelunky is a portable app, so all you have to do is extract the files and run Spelunky.exe. Delete the folder when you're finished with the game.
Spelunky offers keyboard tips as the game progresses. A rope is available to climb up difficult locations, although that took some getting used to.
You can even take screenshots in-game. You can press ESC at any time to pause, quit, or die. A tutorial mode is available to get you used to everything that's happening.
A lot is going on. You can "stick" to walls, push blocks, jump on enemies, and get stuck in cobwebs.
Spelunky Classic is an excellent side-scrolling platform game, as it should be. The game has been polished since 2009, and it shows.
The sequel is available for $15 on Steam, Playstations, and Xbox at https://spelunkyworld.com/buy.html.
