Sordum Monitor Off provides portable monitor control through a simple-to-use app.
It is intended to give you a convenient option to turn off your monitor at will rather than relying on using the Windows power options that use a specific countdown to your monitor powering down. With Sordum Monitor Off, you simply configure a shortcut. Of course with a desktop machine you can turn it off, but when it comes to your laptop, it is another story as most do not have the option. That said you can still use it for your desktop if you choose. All you need to do is just run the executable file named Sordum Monitor off whenever you want to turn off your screen.
Assigning a hotkey will work for any executable, including the Sordum Monitor off. To assign the hotkey, first, you will right-click the .exe file and select Create Shortcut. Next, right-click on the newly created shortcut file and select Properties. From there you will place the mouse in the Shortcut key field, it should say None, You can then select your keyboard shortcut, for example [Ctrl]+[Alt]+ and then finally click OK to confirm the selection. Additionally, you can add a quick lock screen option by simply adding the /OFF/LOCK parameters to the end of the target field. It also supports command-line use.
