It is likely that almost all computer users are familiar with email, and probably instant messaging as well. In a matter of a few years, the Internet has completely changed the way we communicate with each other, with one exception, the Telephone. Nothing has yet replaced the ritual of picking up the phone and dialing a number to have a conversation, and it's unlikely that anything ever will replace voice communication the way that email has erased hand written letters.
