Samsung solid state drives and basically the standard in both the 2.5-inch SATA-based drives as well as M.2 NVMe drives.  I'm sure many of you reading this review probably have a Samsung SSD running in your system right now.  Today we are going to be taking a look at Samsung's latest solid state drive the SSD 980, not to be confused with the 980 Pro which is a Gen4 drive.  The SSD 980 is more of an entry level drive, basically replacing the 970 EVO.  It features Samsung's DRAMless "Pablo" controller and V6 V-NAND.  The 500GB version that we are taking a look at today boasts sequential read and write speeds of 3100 MB/s and 2600 MB/s respectively.  Let's jump in and see what this drive is all about!
