Samsung HZ35W / WB650 GPS Digital Camera Review

Everything USB posted a review on the Samsung HZ35W / WB650 Digital Camera A quote from the article:

Samsung once again wants to show the world they are innovators in the point-n-shoot camera arena. They want to show the world you can have a "super zoom" camera with advanced features which is not as big as a brick. They also want to show you don't need external attachments to get GPS/Geo-Tagging. To do all this, Samsung have released their HZ35W / WB650 15x compact Point & Shoot camera. Can one camera do all this? Read on for my full review.

The Verdict:
The Samsung HZ35W / WB650 certainly is a very nice camera which makes extremely vivid shots. The fact they have not only crammed a good 15x lens and a GPS antenna but the horsepower to run some great on-board features is impressive. If they had only included a burst mode, a better flash, toned down the over saturation & over softening of the pictures it makes and spent more time on the ergonomics this would be THE P&S camera to measure all others against.

The Good:
+ Very good GPS antenna
+ Produces rich vibrant photos
+ Beautiful AMOLED screen
+ SMART Auto really is smart!
+ Good battery life

The Bad:
- Short warranty
- No burst mode (except for 2 shot burst for blink mode)
- Blink and face detection don't really work with glasses
- ISO 3200 is at best all but useless
- Ergonomic issues and TINY buttons
- Anemic flash
- No SD card included
- Photos it produces are over saturated
- Photos are over softened and then over sharpened producing pictures lacking in fine detail (under certain circumstances)
