QTTabBar brings tabbed browsing to Windows Explorer or File Explorer similar to the tabs you're used to in your favorite web browser.Installation is quick and will restart your Explorer to add the tabbed functionality. You will immediately notice a new row in your Explorer that's neatly laid out. Mouse-over tips for each new option are available, but it won't take long for you to get used to what each icon does. If you find icons, you don't want to use, right-click any icon and select customize to remove or rearrange them. You can also lock the menu here as well.From left to right you can manage groups, recently closed, applications, new window, clone current tab, and a slew of ways to close any open tabs. A search is also available.Click on the small blue monitor icon in any tab and shortcuts to videos, pictures, music, downloads, documents, desktop, and all your drives are available. Right-click on any tab to close, lock, clone, copy, open a new window, and more.We admit we discovered QTTabBar a little late. It hasn't been updated in years, but we ran it on Windows 10 with no problems. It was also always in beta but revised numerous times. We found it to be stable, so if using a beta typically concerns you, I wouldn't let that stop you here.QTTabBar is small, and Open Source. It adds plenty of options for those who want multi-tabs on their Explorer while remaining simple to use. During our tests, we opened as many as eight tabs without noticing any slow down to our computer.Download
