Qmmp is an Open Source Qt-based multimedia player with an interface similar to Winamp or XMMS.

Winamp had a great run for many years and millions of users but was discontinued in December 2013. As you know, a lot of security risks come with running a program that no longer is updated so this could be the replacement you’re looking for.

Qmmp includes support for XMMS, Winamp skins, MP3, Vorbis, AAC, AAC+ streams, MMS (experimental), MPRIS (1.0 and 2.0), embedded CUE (for FLAC and WavPack), CUE sheet, CDDB, removable device detection (via HAL or UDisks), video playback via Mplayer, and multiple playlists. There is also an alternative user interface based on standard widgets set, 10-band equalizer, and more.
