PrivWindoze 5.1.5
What is PrivWindoze?
PrivWindoze, short for Private Windows, offers a comprehensive anti-telemetry script designed to enhance your privacy while using the Windows operating system.
What Does it Do?
This script effectively modifies various system policies to limit data collection and tracking by Microsoft and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). In addition to bolstering your privacy, PrivWindoze also facilitates the removal of unnecessary bloatware that often comes preinstalled on new devices. By streamlining your system and ensuring that unwanted software doesn't consume resources or compromise your privacy, PrivWindoze aims to provide a more secure and user-friendly computing experience.
PrivWindoze is a specialized script designed to enhance system performance by shutting down all non-essential processes during scanning operations. One of its unique features is maintaining a small whitelist that allows essential applications to continue functioning.
As part of its cleaning process, PrivWindoze purges all RunOnce entries from the Windows Registry and clears various Event Viewer Logs, including those for Application, Security, Setup, System, and Forwarded Events.
The script also targets cache files from several popular applications, provided they are installed on the system. These include Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Vivaldi, Brave, Yandex, Mozilla Firefox, Floorp, Waterfox, Opera, Comodo Dragon, SteamLabs OBS, Discord, DirectX, Java, Wire, Steam, uTorrent, Battle.net, CurseForge, and CRL URL Cache. Additionally, PrivWindoze creates a System Restore Point named 'PrivWindoze' to safeguard against any potential issues arising from the script. This restore point creation is contingent upon System Restore being activated, as it will not be created if this feature is turned off manually or disabled due to malware.
PrivWindoze also removes BitsTransfer Jobs and deletes Temporary Internet Files without affecting cookies, ensuring that existing logins remain intact. In terms of user preference, it disables the 'Show me suggested content in the Settings app' feature in Windows 10 and 11, which many users find to be a nuisance.
Furthermore, the tool restores the traditional right-mouse-click Context Menu and removes several preinstalled applications commonly found on OEM devices. This includes Microsoft Edge, OneDrive, Bing, Cortana, Recall, ZuneVideo, ZuneMusic, Copilot, Xbox, Gamebar, and other software bundled by manufacturers such as Acer, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Sony, and Lenovo.
