Pgpool-II 4.6 beta1 has been released for testing. This tool enhances PostgreSQL by incorporating features such as connection pooling, load balancing, and automatic failover. The update covers new commands for log rotation, invalidating the query cache, creating the query cache, and incorporating IPv6 support for the watchdog hostname and heartbeat_hostname parameters.
