DDR5 is still relatively new, considering it launched along with Intels Z690 chipset and Alder Lake Core processors back in November last year and while at its inception it didnt seem to offer much in terms of performance in comparison to DDR4, it was wildly more expensive and beyond reach for the majority of consumers.
