Gursewak Sokhi has announced that Oracle Linux 9 Update 5 is now available for 64-bit Intel and AMD (x86_64) and 64-bit Arm (aarch64) platforms. The release includes the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) Release 7 Update 3, version 5.15.0-302.167.6 for x86_64 and aarch64 platforms, as well as the Red Hat Compatible Kernel (RHCK), version 5.14.0-503.11.1 for the x86_64 platform. Oracle Linux is tailored for distributed and multicloud computing environments, offering complete application binary compatibility with Red Hat Enterprise Linux to guarantee uninterrupted application performance.This release encompasses specific features, enhancements, and modifications that have been introduced in Oracle Linux 9. The updates encompass system Java upgraded to OpenJDK 17, .NET enhanced to version 9.0, GCC Toolset 14 as an Application Stream, OpenSSL revised to version 3.2.2, OpenSSH refreshed to version 8.7p1-43, SCAP Security Guide updated to version 0.1.74, cockpit web console improved to version 323, and containers updated to version 5.2.
