OEM Recovery Partition Creator, for advanced users, can create a copy of your partition and bootable rescue media to restore your computer to its original state. Please note that it will only work on a clean install of Windows. The idea behind the app is to be able to create a factory restore just like the one that comes with Dell, HP, and others. However, if you're not an advanced user, and possibly even if you are, you might not know where to begin or how to use the program. The documentation is massive, and could easily be replaced with a graphical user interface.Upon extraction, you are told that the files are only going to be extracted. What you get is seven new folders, all for different operating systems, documentation(you're going to need it), add-ons and sources. If you're anything like me, you're a little surprised, confused and lost at this point and you haven't even started. This is where you need to go to the documentation, all 49 pages of it.As you know, MajorGeeks tests everything for quality before posting it. We try to mostly post 4-star apps, and this is the rare exception to that rule. OEM Recovery Partition Creator has good intentions, and it works, but boy is it difficult to use. In the documentation they say it's for technicians, not for anyone without strong computer knowledge, and for those with basic to medium skills; all in the same paragraph. There are very few free apps that do what OEM Recovery Partition Creator does, so we decided to share it with you, but we only recommend it for techs. You've been warned.Me? Backups are pretty important, so I remain a loyal Acronis True Image customer.Did we mention this is for advanced users only? I figured if we repeated it enough times.....Download
