Solid state drives are expensive, and they're a big change from what we've come to accept a hard drive to be in a computer. For some, it's easy to rush out and buy the latest SSD model and away they go. For others, investing in the high price tag of a solid state drive when they aren't gaining much storage space can be a tough battle. Up until now, to get even a 30gb SSD would often cost over $130CDN - a price I could buy a 2+ Terabyte hard drive for. However, OCZ has recently released their Onyx series - a new line of SSD's aimed to bring the basic benefits of this technology to users at a cost they can afford. I'm lucky enough to have a 32gb Onyx on the test bed today, and look forward to having some first-hand experience with this new model.
