Looks Like there could be a new version of Nvmax coming soon.
After sifting through the mountain of emails Andrew Charnley received he had two very interesting offers from some big companies that build NVIDIA graphics cards regarding bundling of NVmax. As you will know, NVmax 4.0 finished a while back as had flatlined regarding the amount of knowledge required for retrieving NVIDIA driver info. Read more... NVmax made its name from being easy to use and I am thinking now that it would be easier to continue the legacy rather than kill it (i still get many support emails). I had contacted Alexy the RivaTuner author for developing an NVmax 5.0 using RivaTuner function coding with NVmax style interface and features. Whilst we was part interested I had the feeling he is a bit paranoid regarding me taking code and running away. Subsequently he hasn't emailed back.
If the users want it then I am prepared to reopen 'NVmax' but I will only do it if Alexy can handle the advanced coding as it really was out of my depth. Any users that wish for this partnership to come to light could email him with your support and ideas (and me too).
NVmax 5.0 would not contain any of the advanced features in RivaTuner such as AGP control and hardcore registry functions. It would however include more 'services' such as the ability to update video card and mainboard drivers and supply the latest news and product update information. It would more than likely be bundled with a major player but would remain freeware.
