nVidia GeForce4 Ti4200 Review!

Published by

I had heard good things about the overclockability of the Ti4200's but nothing could prepare me for what was about to happen. I am used to my Radeon 8500 which is luck to get a 30 MHz boost before becoming unstable, so i wasn't expecting too much. I started off at 275/275 (550 DDR), and it breezed through those test so I upped the core to 300! Still no problems, then to 310 ... first 3DMark pass went fine, but after that I started to get artefacts so I put the core down to 305. At 305 it is 100% stable. Now for the memory, The default on my card was actually 513 MHz. So I changed that to 600 MHz, 100%. But after that it didn't go too well. I maxed out at 610 MHz. This is still an incredible O/C. The card is now running at Ti4600 speeds on the core, and slightly less on the memory.
