Bjorn3D was hosting a Q&A session with Derek Perez of Nvidia and a few software managers yesterday. The chatlog (@ Futuremark or @ Bjorn3D) reveals that Nvidia is optimistic to provide some performance improvements in fragmentshader instructions with the next official driver release. Most of the work is going into their current GeForce FX lineup. Derek Perez also goes into detail on the Omega driver happenings from the last weeks, basically stating that the way of distributing and marking of the modified drivers was the main concern for the company. Interestingly Nvidia is currently evaluating the possibility to launch a closed beta program similar to what ATI has done earlier this year.
