Nvidia is well known for introducing totally re-vamped drivers with claims of significant performance increases approximately once a year. The last major driver revision - Detonator 40 - was introduced in August 2002. That was around 7 months ago.
There is strong evidence now that Nvidia has already begun the work on next major driver revision - Detonator 50 - some time ago. In fact, the very first Detonator 50 driver - in its early beta stages - version 50.00 - was released for internal testing very early last month.
At this time however, for obvious reasons, we do not know what new features / claims of performance increase Detonator 50 will bring. All we know - it's coming. But we don't know when...
