Texas Instruments announced a new DSL technology that they have developed that is called UDSL (Uni-DSL). The new UDSL is backward compatible with ADSL, VDSL, and other DSL technology making UDSL easy to implement. UDSL will also allow carriers to offer bandwidth speeds up to 200MBps, which puts my 6Mbps DSL line to shame! The UDSL architecture enables operators to deliver triple-play services for voice, video and data to consumers while saving capital expenditures throughout their network since it supports all ADSL and VDSL standards and requires limited fiber investment.
