X-Bit Labs have received word from Gigabyte about a new GA-8ITXR mainboard.

The mainboard is based on Intel 850 chipset, and features 4 RIMM memory slots supporting up to 2GB Rambus DRAM. The mainboard is equipped with 1 AGP 4X slot, 1 CNR slot and 6 PCI slots. GA-8ITXR also comes with on board Creative CT5880 PCI 128 4-channel speaker H/W sound and AC97 codec. The board goes with the on board LAN chip, Promise ATA100 RAID chip and four IDE slots, which allow supporting up to eight ATA100 hard drives, with the capability to provide RAID 0 (Striping) and RAID 1 (Mirroring) function. Besides, there are 4 USB connectors.
