It is a powerful digital compositor capable of adequately handling all of your 2D/2.5D needs. It features robust OIIO file formats and OpenFX architecture, making it a very flexible visual effects compositor. Natron's interface and functionally are the same across all platforms and includes a powerful keying, Roto/Rotopaint, 2D tracking tools that are a staple for all current film production projects that require visual effects.

Natron has a powerful GUI interface that is a flexible and intuitive multi-platform node based engine. At first glance, Natron may appear to be a simple compositing application, but it has layers of complexity that will allow your creativity to reach new heights. Natron includes a flexible Roto and Rotopaint tool-set capable of generating unlimited layers of masks, mattes, and shapes. The powerful 2D and Planar tracker will help reduce hours of rotoscoping. It has some strong keying or matte generation tools that have been developed from some of the leading OFX software developers as well as numerous tools from the Open Source plugin development community.
