The GeForce RTX 3080 12GB seems like an unnecessary addition to the lineup, though perhaps Nvidia has enough GA102 chips that don't meet the 80 SM requirement that it makes sense. MSI's factory overclocked 3080 12GB Suprim X actually outperformed the reference 3080 Ti in many games, albeit with a similarly high MSRP.
