Mobile CPU Showdown : P4 vs. P4EE vs. P-M. vs. Athlon64

GamePC have posted up their Mobile CPU shootout with processors from Intel and AMD! Here's a snip.

While AMD and Intel battle it out in the high-end sector with their Athlon64 and Pentium 4 lines, another less publicized but equally important battle is happening in the mobile markets. Any big shot analyst can tell you that the mobile computing market is growing year by year, and is quickly overtaking desktop PC's in terms of new sales. Of course, both AMD and Intel have realized that the mobile market is becoming increasingly important in terms of sales and platform visibility, and are tailoring their new products for this very large and important sector. While popular opinion today will show that AMD is winning in the enthusiast markets with their Athlon64 and Athlon64 FX processors, the majority of people who follow mobile technology will tell you that Intel is well ahead of AMD in this area. Despite the progress of AMD's successful "Hammer" processor architecture, Intel has downright dominated the mobile sector in the past and continues to do so today with multiple low-power mobile processors and rampant OEM support. In the past two years more specifically, Intel's success in the mobile markets has increased greatly with the introduction of their Pentium-M processor and its companion "Centrino" architecture. Intel's second generation Centrino architecture, which features their "Dothan" core based Pentium-M processor and 802.11G LAN adapters, has already proven to be very popular, as Intel continues to build up a solid reputation for the Centrino brand name in terms of battery life and performance.
