When it comes to PC storage we are really in a good place right now. Previously were were bottlenecked by the speed of SATA ports, but now that we have access to PCI-Express for storage. With that we are seeing many budget-friendly drives get up to 5000 MB/s which is just incredible. One such drive is the NM710 drive from Lexar. This drive makes use of a Maxio Technology controller teamed with 176-layer TLC NAND and does not have a cache chip. This combination will produce sequential speeds of 5000 MB/s read and 4500 MB/s write, which no one is going to complain about.
