Lexar introduced the NM610 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD series back in August 2019 with the release of 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities. While this PCIe 3.0 x4 drive is over half a year old, it seems to be getting more attention right now as Lexar is actively sending out review samples to hardware review sites.

The Lexar NM610 is what we consider an entry-level NVMe drive with sequential speeds of up to 2,000 MB/s sequential read and 1,600 MB/s sequential write speed. Random 4K performance is rated at up to 188,000 IOPS read and 156,000 IOPS write. These aren’t bad performance numbers as Lexar is using the entry-level Silicon Motion (SMI) SM2263XT controller paired with TLC NAND Flash memory.
