The popular open-source video editing tool, Kdenlive, has been updated to version 24.02.0. By incorporating Qt6 and KDE Frameworks 6, Kdenlive 24.02 represents a significant upgrade to the frameworks, which improves both the user experience and the overall performance of the software. Not only does it run natively on DirectX, Metal, and Vulkan for Windows, MacOS, and Linux, but it also improves the Wayland support for Linux users. Additionally, the upgrade includes the introduction of a dedicated package for Apple Silicon, the termination of support for PPA, and the enhancement of installation procedures for the Whisper and Vosk speech-to-text conversion engines.
