KDE has announced the release of KDE Frameworks 6.12.0, which comprises 72 addon libraries for Qt. These libraries offer a diverse range of essential functionalities, characterized by their maturity, peer-reviewed quality, and thorough testing, all accompanied by user-friendly licensing terms. The release encompasses bug fixes, enhancements, and refinements to various features. The latest versions feature Baloo, which prevents race conditions during updated file modification; Breeze Icons, which eliminates themed SmartGit icons; and introduces MIME-type icons for Kdenlive project files.Extra CMake Modules now incorporate BSL-1.0 as GPL-compatible, enhance documentation for ECM QML modules, eliminate the conditional branch for CMake versions older than 2, and mandate CMake version 3.16 or higher for tests. KArchive has been updated to include KF7 TODOs and Kgzipfilter. In C++, nullptr is utilized in place of zero. KcalendarCore has received minor updates, while KCodecs has transitioned entity tables into read-only data sections. KConfigWidgets has been enhanced to KRecentFilesAction, and KCodecs has relocated entities tables into read-only data sections.
