Kali Linux 2024.2 released
The latest version of Kali Linux is now available. Based on Debian testing, the security-focused rolling distribution Kali Linux incorporates all Debian changes into Kali as soon as they land in Debian testing. In order to avoid problems in the year 2038, Kali Linux has included the t64 transition, a 64-bit time_t type. All architectures, including those with a 64-bit time_t type, were affected by this massive ABI switch, which necessitated rebuilding and renaming a huge number of packages with a t64 suffix. Kali 2024.2 now incorporates the GNOME 46 desktop environment, which provides a more refined experience and a number of additional utilities.
