Jeff Morris graciously granted UT2007World an interview about the current state of UT2007.
UT2007World: Will UT2007 be released in the same platforms (OS) as UT2004? Any built-in backwards compatibility for DirectX7?
Jeff: So far, we've announced UT2007 for Windows and PS3. In terms of backward compatibility on Windows platforms what has happened in the past is that a few months before launch our Unreal Engine wizards sift through the code and find ways to make our demanding high-end game run on relatively low-end systems. UT2004 was a very high-end game when it shipped but our guys got it to run on some amazingly old hardware like, 3DFX cards, and still run pretty well. We even got it to run on 2D-only video cards thanks to the inclusion of a software renderer.
Questions asked were all from UT2007World members.
