iStreetView Downloader lets you enter a panorama into istreetview.com to print or transfer to a device to take with you.Currently, Google Maps can't (or won't) do this, so you have to take the steps of going to Google maps and copying the URL, then go to istreetview.com, to load the panorama. Now you can copy the panorama ID, and finally, put that into iStreetView Downloader. Anything that's a few steps and new can be tricky the first time, and we admit to having a little trouble, so here's how it works. Our first screenshot shows where you load the URL to get the panorama on istreetview.com. Note to the top right of that screenshot a link that looks like a paper clip, next to the heart. Click that, and the panorama Id will be copied to your clipboard. Now, using iStreetView Downloader, you can enter the ID. Choose a resolution, and location to save and there's your panorama. iStreetView Downloader asks you to choose a download location near the bottom, yet has a tiny folder icon to the top left, about as far away as they could get.Our first panorama goes down as a failure with a street view of Vero Beach. The photo was, as you can see in the third screenshot, two U shaped streets. Florida is mostly a grid, and we could barely recognize the location. All the information about the panorama is next to it and a delete button. Our second attempt crashed downloading 338(!) images, and we had to restart. The second attempt created the panorama, but again, the double U effect showed up.iStreetView Downloader still needs some work and falls short of our 4-star expectations. 338 images seem ridiculous to create a panorama and the interface, as simple as it is, could be a bit more intuitive. That said, it made it here because we expect to see some improvement over time and it's a unique, niche-filling application.
