Intel Software Has Spyware ?

Here's the scoop... After a format i have install my hardware drivers and the above software. I use the Intel Audio Studio so that i get 5.1 sound from the optical device with out it you will only get 2 channels. I have installed Intel Desktop Control Center so that i can see more details on my motherboard such as bios version number, fan speed, and the other fun toys. Anyways im on a home network of about 7 computers and for some reason our net has started to run very slow. Only with my computer online. So i followed the normal process to diagnose the problem. Checked for spyware using Ad-Aware, Spy Sweeper, McAfee, and Spy Bot. Then checked for viruses. Everything clean. Checked startup routines, ran fsck. Again this was right after a format. So i knew it really couldn't be much unless it's something i already have installed. Now before i continue i want to point out that i don't believe the answer to my problem is related to intel. However in my research to find the problem i have found out that intel's software likes to "phone home". Here are the results of Ethereal.
Details:

HARDWARE-

Intel D915PBL
3.4Ghz
1024Gb Ram

SOFTWARE-

Windows XP Pro.
Intel Audio Studio
Intel Desktop Control Center
Ethereal

Now i want to point out that the only Intel process which is running is from Intel Audio Studio. From the above information it looks as if this software program is accessing the Internet with out my knowledge or consent. What kind of software do you know of which access the Internet with out your knowledge or consent? The answer is Spy ware. As a result of this i have attempted to contact Intel about this issue. All my e-mails have been ignored so far. Maybe one of you can shead some light on this. Anyways I'll end with saying. Good going INTEL!
