Intel Introduces Celeron 1.7Ghz - Willamette 128 Core!

Intel Corporation today announced two new Intel Celeron processors targeted for value PCs. These desktop processors represent Intel's fastest offering for the price-sensitive desktop value PC market segment. The Intel Celeron processor at 1.7 GHz is based on the 0.18-micron process technology and features a 400 MHz front side bus. The Intel Celeron processor at 1.4 GHz is based on the 0.13-micron process technology and features a 100 MHz front side bus. In 1,000-unit quantities, the desktop Intel Celeron processor at 1.7 GHz is priced at $83 and the 1.4 GHz is priced at $89. The new Celeron processors differ from PGA478 Pentium 4 (Willamette) only by the L2 cache size (128KB against 256KB) and marking. Source: Intel
